Site was down this morning ...
Admin panels are now back up BUT W
WE HAVE LOST FOUR DAYS WORTH OF DATA from our BISI stores and admin records!!!!!!!!!

This means - inventory counts, sales records, records of orders, any modifications you had done to your store in the last few days - those are all GONE. It is back to the way it was on June 26, which was the fall-back date they used.

If you've sold anything since then, added any products, made any changes to text or custom pages, worked on SEO and keywords - WHATEVER you did since the 26th must be reconstructed!!!

TOMAS' POST regarding this on the BISI forum:

On 6/30/2009 we experienced a major database outage that resulted in lost data.

In our attempts to restore to the latest backups, the last fully restorable backup was from 6/26/2009 8:00AM PST.

All data entered or updated from 6/26/2009 8:00AM up to this current point has been lost. We are doing our best to restore this data at this time, but all attempts are currently unsuccessful. We apologize for this inconvenience and we are working to prevent these problems from future occurances.

I saw an emergency maintenance message - right now I'm getting database errors on everything. It figures, I'd just done ads on my most recent postings.

I would go in and do a complete backup of your site and copy it to your computer. I see that even the forum is down now.

Back in 2006 I seen something like this happen on another site that I was on and we lost everything! Every store was empty with nothing in it when we woke up that morning. I there were something like 40,000 items that were just gone from the database.

Gosh I am so sorry to hear this. This is just not a way to be doing business. Now why isn't there any backups for all of these days????

KLet's try to do what we can to make sure folks are aware they have some work to do over there... inventory will be all wrong if you have sold anything since the 26th. And new products will need to be relisted.

Double check your email and also PayPal / Google / ProPay to make sure you don't miss any outstanding orders. I got one last night and another just before everything went down, and, of course, now they are gone from BISI!

Good aadvice, Bays. Scares me silly to realize they are not doing DAILY back ups.

I am off to do what I can in the way of recovery.

Oh my gosh! I feel so bad for everyone on bisi, this is terrible! I would sure do what Deb suggested, what if it happens again and you lose it all! I am so glad I'm gone from there! I am really sorry for everyone!

And how do we do a backup of our BISI sites??? I guess all you can do is a download??? And with the way the site (websites, forum, and Admin) is up and down right now... fat chance at getting that to even work...

I can't believe their last fall-back restore point was the 26th... No daily backups? With as many stores as BISI supports, backups should have been several times a day. I started to delete items from inventory that have sold since the 26th, and one doesn't come up when you search by sku... but it IS there when I search by title. So there's even more messed up than just a loss of data... And that's when I can even get the Admin to work....

This will SO not happen to me again!!!

This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! I'll tell you another thing.....I am sick to death of Tomas. Sorry for the inconvenience? It's more than an inconvenience! These are peoples lives for God's sake! Glitches yes, this...no way! With the 16,000 stores he told me BISI has there should be daily back up. End of story. Stick a fork in me....I'm done.
